Last night I saw Avatar for the 3rd time. Just as the first two times I saw it; I was blown away and deeply affected on an emotional level that is hard to explain.
The first time I saw the movie, I cried all the way home. This movie touched me on such a deep level that it’s hard to understand.
The movie is just amazing. The story is incredible and is perfect from start to finish. The music is fantastic. In fact, I bought the soundtrack and am listening to it as I type this. Every time I hear the score from the scene where they are climbing up the floating rocks in the flux vortex I start to cry. I don’t know why it affects me so but it is very moving.
I find the story to be incredible in a way that reminds me much of the American Indians, their respect and love for all things living, nature and the earth. They respected our planet in ways most people never understand or appreciate. I have always had a deep respect for the American Indians and their beliefs and this movie is in tune with this I think. I know some people have felt that there is a great synergy between various parts of the movie and god and that is one way to look at it, but not the way I do.
I hope perhaps that some people will take something away from this movie and try to be a better person towards others and the earth. I often fear that someday this planet will be used up and destroyed, all at the hands of man. I very much think it will happen. It is happening all around us at this very moment and I think we are at the point of no return on reversing the damage.
I hope someday to find the love with someone as deep as Jake and Neytiri. Their story is beautiful and as always James Cameron has captured a great love story.
Thank you James for bringing us this movie. It will affect me forever.
